The breed's weight range is 46–82 kg (102–180 pounds) and the height range is 74-88 cm(min height 24.5 inches). The preferred show-types are the long-coated gray dogs with some white markings.Black or black-and-tan dogs are often not acceptable in the show ring.
Among the representatives of the original Georgian population of the breed (Georgian Caucasian Sheepdog) the pure white dogs are being most valued..
